A Personal Letter from Steve Bonaconza, 2008

Thank you for joining me on our purpose-driven journey in 2008.
Our 40 Days of Community has been an amazing experience - for me personally I have found love here - not only through your encouragement, but through your enthusiastic support and commitment to the internal ministry and external mission of our church.

I was overwhelmed when over 200 of you turned out in support of the Missions & Ministry outreach on Saturday 16 February - proving that we are not only better together, but that we are more effective when we are united in purpose.

Camps Bay United’s mission is unequivocally stated. Our goals are well defined. And clearly, our hearts are in the right place.

Now I would like you to take the next step with me as we grow in maturity through discipleship. Remember: You are never too old or too young to grow in Christ! As Christians we can never stop growing, nor can we grow too much.
And it is only through commitment, dedication and action that we grow.

ALPHA - Helping people “Find Love Here”

Many of you reading this letter will have found love here thanks to the Alpha course. (I believe there is no better introduction to the love of Jesus Christ than the Alpha experience).
Now I challenge you to share the love you have found here with someone you know who is in need – this is the Great Commission.

ALPHA is the perfect forum and place to engage with people who need Christ in their lives, but who are reluctant to engage with traditional church values and processes.
ALPHA is engaging, non-threatening and relevant. Most importantly, it is successful. We just need your help to get them here.

You know the value of ALPHA. What better person to share the Good News than yourself?

“In every seed there is a garden”

Here’s how you can help: We want you to be a seed planter!
Simply bring one person to the Alpha introductory evening on Tuesday 15 April – and the Alpha team will do the rest. It’s that easy.

“God will greatly bless his people; wherever they plant seed, bountiful crops will spring up” – Isaiah 32:20

Seeds are gardens yet to bloom. And what a blessing it is when we see God’s work in full bloom!

Your role as a sower into peoples’ lives, and into the life of our church, is one of the most important things you can do in your Christian walk.
ALPHA is fundamental to our common growth and I am looking forward to a bountiful crop as we grow in our commitment to Christ.

I encourage, indeed urge you, to confidently step out in faith with me as we continue building God’s Kingdom right here in Camps Bay.
May I count on you to introduce just one person to Alpha in April?
